Welcome to Down Home, San Luis Obispo Classical Academy’s blog! We are a classical school offering several options to make our education work for families with infants through high schoolers. Our signature hybrid program, which is part-time classroom and part-time home instruction, provides an engaging education for preschool through middle school (with full time options available). We also have a university model high school. This blog is meant to support and encourage on the home front because, in so many ways, the heart of what happens at SLO Classical Academy happens down home.

We love the holidays! Go ahead and indulge in a few sugary, gluteny holiday treats this season, but remember that you can consume all the books your heart desires! After all, among the many delights of the season, a three week break from school means more time to read!

We always love to know what others are reading these days, so today we bring you another installment in our Reading Resolutions series (this used to be called “What’s on Your Nightstand?”), where we share what a few of our parents are currently reading, and hoping to read in the days and weeks ahead. If you’re looking for a book or two to read over the break, perhaps one of these choices will inspire you:
