Where our story begins...

SLO Classical Academy began in 2005 on the wings of a dream...a dream that every minute our children spent in class would matter.  A dream that those hours spent at school would be filled with meaning and value, and that the natural passion for learning would be ignited more powerfully over time.  We had the dream that our kids would learn to think for themselves, that they would be far more prepared for life than we were, and that their schooling would reach their hearts, minds and very souls.  With the help of amazing parents and staff with a similar dream, SLO Classical Academy is celebrating ten years...of a dream come true.

SLOCA is hands down the best parenting decision I ever made! – Carol Dichmann, long-time SLOCA parent

Our Magic Formula

Classical education

At the heart of what makes SLOCA work is classical education. Stemming from an ancient approach to learning, it guides our decisions and inspires our every educational move. To understand SLOCA, you must explore classical education. Click here to begin this process!

Family involvement

Our hybrid model of classroom + home points to our belief that family is of utmost importance in children's lives...even in their educational lives. Children thrive best when their parents are actively engaged in their academic lives, and at SLOCA, family is woven into all we do. Click here to find out more!

Strong community

Foundational to our success—and the success of each student—is our amazing, dynamic community. Students, teachers, administration, support staff, parents and our board and committees all work together to create a special place of belonging for all. Explore this community more here.
