Welcome to Down Home, San Luis Obispo Classical Academy’s blog! We are a classical school offering several options to make our education work for families with infants through high schoolers. Our signature hybrid program, which is part-time classroom and part-time home instruction, provides an engaging education for preschool through middle school (with full time options available). We also have a university model high school. This blog is meant to support and encourage on the home front because, in so many ways, the heart of what happens at SLO Classical Academy happens down home.

Semper discentes—always learning together.

Classic Story Hour

Did you know something magical regularly occurs at SLO Classical Academy the second Wednesday of every month?

The Classic Story Hour began last year with (now) Jr. K teacher Denise Indvik reading quality literature and providing fun craft activities for those in attendance.  The Classic Story Hour has continued this year with Meredith Eades.  This Wednesday, Mrs. Eades will be reading about Leonardo da Vinci, sculpting with playdough, reciting poems about birds and making a bird feeder!  Story hour begins at 9:30 in the Lewis Library and is open to all families in our community.  Perhaps you have a neighbor with pre-school aged children, or you run into moms at the park or soccer–please invite them to join us this Wednesday!
