Happy Fourth of July! Today’s post isn’t really a throwback either, but we will return next week with favorites from the past!
With the holiday weekend ahead, there’s lots to do here in SLO County for family fun. For starters, how about reading the Declaration of Independence aloud with your family? And here are some local holiday events you can check out – click on the event link for more info:
4th of July weekend Peddler's Faire, Cayucos – Fri-Sun, July 3-5, 9am – 4pm
Located at the Cayucos Creek Lot (between Hardie Park and Ocean Ave.)
Description: Take a stroll along the many vendors selling antiques, homemade products, flea market items, clothing, jewelry, and more. Bring an appetite too, whether you choose to satisfy it with delectable's from visiting vendors or some of Cayucos' great eateries.
Cayucos Independence Day Activities – Sat, July 4, 8am – 7pm
Please leave fireworks at home. No fires, fireworks or alcohol on beach.
- Sand Sculpture Contest: 5am-8am by the pier Sponsored by Cayucos Lions Club
- Annual Parade: 10am, Ocean Ave.
- Cayucos Lion's BBQ/food: 11am-3pm, Vet's Hall
- Cayucos Lioness Bingo: 1pm-4pm, Vets Hall
- Fireworks: 9pm, from the Cayucos Pier
Morro Bay Independence Day Celebration – Sat, July 4, 10:00am – 9:30pm
394 Embarcadero, Morro Bay
Description: Come enjoy a family friendly, alcohol-free event at Tidelands Park. We encourage you to BYOP (Bring Your Own Picnic) and participate in events throughout the day. This year’s 4th of July celebration is a daytime only event. There will not be a fireworks show in Morro Bay.
Templeton's 4th of July Parade – Sat, July 4, 10am – 11am
Main Street, Templeton
Description: The festivities begin at 10:00 am on July 4 and run along Main Street and Crocker Street. After the parade, please join us back at Templeton Community Park for the awards ceremony, food, entertainment, music, fun and games. Enjoy live music by Matt Nino's Band and Triple Down Theory. Check out the many food and craft vendors that will be there until 3:00pm. Beer and Wine for sale by the REC Foundation.
Fourth of July Village Summer Concert – Sat, July 4, 1:00 pm
Located at the Rotary Bandstand at Heritage Square Park in the Village of Arroyo Grande
Description: Relax and enjoy this Saturday summer concert on Fourth of July! Food, drinks and ice cream will be available. Explore the historic downtown of Arroyo Grande while visiting local shops and museums. Live, patriotic concert music by The Village Band.
Pismo Beach July 4th Fireworks Celebration – Sat, July 4, 10 am – 11 pm
Downtown Pismo Beach
All day vendors, music, food, arts & crafts. Free general admission. VIP seating available for fireworks display at 9:00 pm. Please call Rochelle at 805-773-4382 for information. Tickets can be purchased at this website.
