DESCRIPTION:Cost $450\nThis is not a 2-week commitment; you can sign up for both weeks or just one.  \nAge: going into 1st grade-6th grade \nJoin us as we build\, code\, and create! Using LEGO® builds\, robotics\, and SLOCA’s Makerspace\, students will develop problem-solving skills and an engineering mindset through hands-on exploration. Activities are thoughtfully designed to match each child’s age and ability\, ensuring both growth and enjoyment. Our two LEGO®/Makerspace camps give students multiple opportunities to apply their skills in new and exciting challenges. \nWeek 1: June 15th-19th \nAre you ready to join the Secret Agent Academy? \nStep into a week of hands-on LEGO® builds\, robotics\, and SLOCA’s Makerspace challenges designed to sharpen your camper’s problem-solving and sleuthing skills. Campers will crack codes\, engineer spy gadgets\, design robotic missions\, and work together to escape clever challenges. Packed with creativity\, collaboration\, and innovation\, SLOCA’s LEGO® Secret Agent Academy is an action-filled experience your student won’t want to miss! \nDisclaimer: You can expect students to watch a few educational and inspirational videos during our time together. \nWeek 2: June 22nd-26th \nWe need more Superheroes!  \nJoin us for a week of action-packed LEGO® builds\, robotics\, and SLOCA’s Makerspace challenges designed to help campers discover their inner hero. Students will engineer superhero tools\, design vehicles and headquarters\, sketch costumes\, and solve problems that require teamwork and creativity. Through hands-on building and imaginative play\, campers will strengthen critical-thinking skills while learning what it means to be a virtuous hero. SLOCA’s LEGO® Superhero School is an epic adventure your camper won’t want to miss! \nDisclaimer: You can expect students to watch a few educational and inspirational videos during our time together. \n  \nImportant Location Information for 1st-8th Grade Camps: \nThis summer\, our camps for 1st-8th grade will be hosted at SLOCA High School while our lower school supplies are transitioned to our new campus. To make the most of this season\, we are offering optional off-campus lunch outings to local playgrounds in San Luis Obispo. Camp staff will safely transport students to and from the parks during the lunch break. \nFamilies who prefer their child to remain on campus may opt out of off-campus lunches.
