Becky Fernandez

Intermediate Teacher

Teaching is in Becky Fernandez’s genes. A Hanford, CA native, she comes from a long line of educators who emphasized the importance of kindness and curiosity. Becky earned her B.A. in Social Sciences from Cal Poly and her teaching credential from San Francisco State University. After graduating, she taught third grade in Berkeley and Kindergarten in Miami before moving back to California. She joined SLOCA first as a substitute and advanced to full-time teaching in 2023. For her, the school’s rich curriculum, caring staff, and holistic approach to education make it a special place. When she’s not instructing youngsters, Becky loves hanging out with her family, cooking healthy meals, and hiking at the beach.
