WHY must we fundraise?
Fundraising bridges the gap between tuition and the actual cost of educating students well.
At SLOCA, we deeply care about building community, and this is just one great way to participate. Everybody needs to be on board for this to work!
Family fundraising gives students a way to creatively get involved at their school, and feel like they’re a part of something bigger!
WHAT is my Family Fundraising Goal?
Your required family fundraising goal for the 2025-2026 school year is $1,195. We provide a variety of ways for our community to meet this goal!
Don’t forget—if your fundraising goal is not met, you will be billed on FACTS.
WHY DO I
(as a parent)
CARE?
Family Fundraising allows you to participate in community, give back, and teach your kids valuable skills and virtues.
I’m teaching my kids about responsibility and diligence—like how to set goals and work well.
I’m teaching my kids how to lead.
I’m becoming part of SLOCA’s future by helping to sustain its growth.
HOW do we meet our goal?
Here's everything that counts:
Complete one bigger task or combine a few to get that goal met!
For example, you could...
- Join SLOCA Rewards + participate in our fall and/or spring kid-driven fundraiser.
- Participate in our fall fundraiser + our spring fundraiser.
- Sponsor SLOCA through your business + participate in our fall and/or spring kid-driven fundraiser.
- Join SLOCA Rewards + participate in sponsorship.
- Join our Foundation Circle.
- Pay for it all at once and avoid future fundraising recruiting emails.
the specifics
In order for SLOCA to remain sustainable, 100% of our families need to participate fully in their Family Fundraising Goal. Every family is required to meet their $1195 family goal during the 2025-26 school year. We rely on fundraising as a significant portion of our income and 100% of these funds raised are allocated for teacher salaries, benefits, and training!
Given the necessity of fundraising, your goal is a mandatory component of every family’s commitment at SLOCA. This year, Family Fundraising Goals will be split into two sub-goals:
- The first $597 milestone is due to be met by December 31, 2025.
- The second milestone of $598 is due to be met by May 1, 2026.
If a family’s first $597 sub-goal has not been met by 12/31/25, they will be automatically charged the sub-goal balance through FACTS in January 2026. If a family’s second $598 sub-goal has not been met by 5/1/26, they will be automatically charged the sub-goal balance through FACTS in May 2026.
Why sub-goals? Failure to have full participation can lead to significant budget shortfalls. To ameliorate this, we have instituted the sub-goal payment structure. This system breaks our fundraising needs into more manageable chunks, so no family will be unduly impacted. Also, sub-goals will keep everyone on track and better equip each family to achieve their goal.
