Here are a few optional links about Jim Crow laws and Women’s Suffrage, both of which were huge civil rights issues in the years following the Civil War and Reconstruction. The Rise and Fall of Jim Crow – This 4 minute video is a clip from a longer PBS documentary, explaining the era of Jim Crow. It does go into the 20th century and touches on Civil Rights during that time as well, which shows kids the far-reaching effects of these dreadful laws:
