Happy Friday! Tomorrow is Children’s Day in the Plaza, held in the SLO Mission Plaza from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM. This is a fun day for kids with hands-on activities, rides, games, face painting, petting farm, carnival, food, music and more. We hope some of you will be joining us to help out in our booth, or if you are planning to attend with the kids, stop by to support our school!
A special upcoming event we also want to mention with a little advance notice is the annual Wild West Show BBQ Fundraiser at the Fort Hope Frontier Children’s Mentoring Museum. This event is coming up on Sunday, April 28th from 2:00-7:00 PM in the Huasna area of Arroyo Grande. Fort Hope is a fantastic place for kids to experience the Old West, and the day will include live music by Monte Mill’s Luck Horse Band, an old fashioned gun fight, panning for gold, fishing, a live petting zoo, archery, corn husk doll making, candle making, a BBQ dinner, and more. Tickets are $50 for adults, and children under 18 are free. This is a great cause, it’s super-fun, and fits right in with our history studies – it will give you and your kids an authentic taste of the wild west! Have a great weekend, and remember to unplug from electronics for a bit and enjoy some good old-fashioned family time!
