Here’s an exciting idea for summer fun – plan a Mystery Day. When the kids wake up, tell them what to wear and what to pack, but don’t reveal your destination. The kids will probably ask questions and you might want to give hints, but keep the secret and build anticipation. Maybe it will be something that takes only an hour or two, or it might be an all-day affair. It can be totally free – whatever you choose to surprise your kids with, they will have a great time figuring out the mystery and enjoying a day planned just for them. Talk about fond memories!

And speaking of Mystery… is your family reading 100 Cupboards? Have you found out where the cupboards lead to? Which cupboard would you want to go into? Let’s talk about this enchanting book together during the Family Reading Group at SLOCA on August 16th from 4-5 pm. Hope to see you there!
