Welcome to Down Home, San Luis Obispo Classical Academy’s blog! We are a classical school offering several options to make our education work for families with infants through high schoolers. Our signature hybrid program, which is part-time classroom and part-time home instruction, provides an engaging education for preschool through middle school (with full time options available). We also have a university model high school. This blog is meant to support and encourage on the home front because, in so many ways, the heart of what happens at SLO Classical Academy happens down home.

Semper discentes—always learning together.

Summer 2013: Play – Get Together this Friday

{source}

This summer we’ve highlighted a few ways to play with your family, but today’s Play tip is a simple reminder of all the fun we have planned for this Friday, August 16th, for ALL of our SLO Classical families!

We hope you’ll join us at school from 4-5 pm for the Family Reading Group to discuss 100 Cupboards by N.D. Wilson. Did you enjoy the book? Want to hear what others thought? Let’s come together and talk about it!

And bring your swim gear because from 6-9pm that same evening it’s Family Night at Cuesta Pool! Come play with us – get ready for the watermelon push and the inner tube relay, and general wet, wild fun in the pool. Cost is $5 per person, paid at the pool.

It should be a fantastic evening to play not only with your own family, but with our SLO Classical family. We hope you’ll be there!
