Who’s up for some holiday crafting with the kiddos? We usually like to make a little something during the break for Christmas decorations or gifts. Here are just a few ideas that you could easily make with kids. Feel free to share your own holiday craft suggestions in the comments below!
Clockwise, from top left:
1. These Button Ornaments from Martha Stewart make darling gifts, or keep them for yourself! A great way for kids to use their fine motor skills and their imaginations.
2. Here’s a Tree Shaped Christmas Ornament Display from The Sweet Survival that would be a fun piece of holiday decor to make with older kids. You could hang this with or without the frame.
3. Yarn and buttons can go a long way… check out these bright and colorful Yarn and Button Topiaries from HGTV. They would look sweet on a mantle or as a centerpiece, or kids would probably enjoy making a small forest of these.
4. More yarn! This Pom Pom Garland from Mama Says Sew makes a quick and easy festive decoration for just about anywhere in your home. You can make your own pom poms out of yarn (this link is also a fun project idea), or if all else fails you can always buy pom poms in holiday colors.
5. Here’s one the boys might get into – Craft Stick and Washi Tape Sleds from Craft, Interrupted. Kids and grownups can both have fun creating these as ornaments, decorations, or just to play with.
