Being resourceful often involves things, money, or time, but another way to be resourceful is to recognize our natural skills and passions, and nurture those to bring out their full potential. We can be resourceful with our minds and abilities.
The video we are sharing today is an inspiring story about just that. It’s an interview with mom Kristine Barnett and her son Jacob, who was diagnosed with severe autism as a young child. Jacob is now a teenager who is on track to becoming a future Nobel Prize winner, and his mom talks about what they have learned on their journey to unlock her son’s potential.
Although this is not everyone’s story or path, there is something all parents can glean from this heartening video. It’s an inspirational reminder to trust your instincts about what is best for your child, and to encourage their love of learning from within. Their natural abilites and passions are vital resources that can be fostered to bring out their best. It’s a little over 20 minutes long, but if you’d like to hear their story, perhaps you can play it while cleaning out your email inbox or folding laundry…
