This morning we have a sweet note from a parent to share, sent in by Track B mom Danielle Collins. Danielle, her husband Neil, and daughter Annabelle (Kindergarten) are in their second year at SLOCA. Here’s a quick look at how their home days are going so far this year:
Homeschool days have begun and we are getting into the groove of what resembles a more structured day. This year our daughter has “turned into a kinder-garden,” as she puts it, and we are enjoying our second year at SLOCA. I am continually reminded of how fortunate we are to participate in a hybrid system that allows for close parent involvement and a schedule that can be tailored to fit the individual daily routines of each family. For us, this usually means as much schoolwork as my daughter can sit still for at a time with frequent breaks to the chicken and goat pens to make sure things haven't changed since the last time we checked! At the end of a homeschool day, she and I are both so full from fun that it's hard to tease out what was actually assigned work and what was spontaneous play.
Thanks, Danielle! This puts a smile on our faces and is a great way to start a Monday. We are delighted that you and your family are here and thriving at SLOCA!
