Saint George and the Dragon by Raphael

Today many in the United Kingdom celebrate St. George’s Day. You remember St. George from St. George and the Dragon? He is England’s patron saint, and April 23rd is the anniversary of his death. While not an official national holiday anymore, it is still observed in many parts of the UK with parades, dancing, and other activities.
Since our kids read about him earlier in the year (and our younger students enjoyed the beautiful book by Margaret Hodges), perhaps they will appreciate knowing that today is St. George’s Day. Below are a few dragon-related activities if you want to do something small to celebrate just for fun:
First, here’s some background info on St. George’s Day.
