Welcome to Down Home, San Luis Obispo Classical Academy’s blog! We are a classical school offering several options to make our education work for families with infants through high schoolers. Our signature hybrid program, which is part-time classroom and part-time home instruction, provides an engaging education for preschool through middle school (with full time options available). We also have a university model high school. This blog is meant to support and encourage on the home front because, in so many ways, the heart of what happens at SLO Classical Academy happens down home.

Semper discentes—always learning together.

Throwback Summer: Singapore Math Tips Series

{photo by Jenny Bischoff}

Over the past 2-3 years we ran a series of blog posts about Singapore Math, written by Lisa Ann Dillon, our Singapore Math Curriculum Coordinator and Intermediate Lead Teacher. These helpful posts were chock full of excellent suggestions and explanations, so today we have gathered them all into one place so you can review them for the coming year, or bookmark it to reference whenever you need.

A couple of disclaimers: Although Level 1 is not included here, the information contained in the Kindergarten and Level 2 posts will be helpful for those who have a Level 1 student. (We hope to add a Level 1 post this year!) And when the post for Level 4 was written, the upper levels were half a year behind in the Singapore program, so the material corresponds to that. But there's still a ton of great information here, so click on each of the following to read about:

Singapore Math Tips: Kindergarten

Singapore Math Tips: Level 2

Singapore Math Tips: Level 3

Singapore Math Tips: Level 4

Singapore Math Tips: Level 5 and 6
