Intermediate parents in Mrs. Dillon’s Track A class received a fun email from her a few weeks ago, about a writing exercise they did in class. We thought we’d share the results of this creative and inspiring group writing experience with all of our families here on Down Home (and a photo of one student's copy of the final product):
Dear Families,
Yesterday, my lesson in the writing of a descriptive paragraph went a little differently than planned. Usually, students brainstorm and write a pretty dull paragraph and then we make it amazing by using descriptive language. Right out of the gate though yesterday, students were coming up with complex sentences and colorful vocabulary! This is what we created. You will see that I sent it to Cozy Faber because I think your kids wrote a pretty good advertisement for SLOCA!
Hope you enjoy,
Lisa Ann
Wouldn’t you agree? We are proud of these 3rd and 4th graders – keep up the fantastic writing, kids!
