As trimester 2 comes to an end, we are saying goodbye to The Shakespeare Stealer and Elizabethan England after spending many enjoyable hours with both. But there’s more Shakespeare ahead! Next trimester we will be reading A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and though this is a tad early, we found something fun that younger students might enjoy and wanted to share it with you on the blog.
It’s a 45-minute video production of an abridged version of A Midsummer Night’s Dream starring 3rd grade kids, and it gained high praise from the Folger Shakespeare Library. (Click here to see what they have to say about it.) You can purchase a streaming version for only $2.
Check out the website below to view a trailer for the movie, read customer testimonials, and purchase if you choose:

And click here for more info about the story behind this production.
This might be fun to watch over Spring Break to familiarize children with the story before we read it next trimester, or you may want to save this link and wait until we get to the play before watching it. Either way, it looks like a great option for E&E!
