Children will not remember you for the material things you provided, but for the feeling that you cherished them.

Need a few fresh ideas for simple ways to spend time with your family this summer and show your kids how much you cherish them? Here are five possibilities, and each Friday this summer we will post 5 more! No need to try all 5, just pick one that sounds fun and give it a try sometime:
1. Have a family slumber party.
Parents, I know it’s hard to give up your bed for a night, but imagine the family bonding that can take place when you’re all in the living room staying up late watching a movie in sleeping bags, eating Red Vines and giggling.
2. Decorate a family vacation (or donation) jar and start saving your change.
3. Look through old family photos, baby photos, and/or watch old home videos together.
Kids love doing this and we don’t do it often enough!
4. Play hide and seek in the dark.
5. Bake treats (or buy popsicles) and take them to a neighbor.
What fun family activities do you have planned for this weekend or this summer? Leave a comment and let us know what you're doing! Have a splendid weekend, everyone.
