Our History Day events are one of many ways we build community here at SLOCA. Both tracks come together to celebrate all that we’ve been reading about, writing about, and discussing in history. Sometimes we repeat history days from the last 4-year cycle, and sometimes we try something new, but they are always energizing, uplifting, and fun reminders of the power of learning together!
Tonight’s patriotic gathering will be a new approach to the culmination of this trimester’s history, with “Voices of Our American Patriots.” We will hear each class recite poetry and speeches from the time of the American Revolution – prepare to be wowed and inspired as you listen to words from great minds of the past, brought to life by our very own students.
Please refer to the Info Sheet link in the weekly update for all the details you’ll need for tonight, but as a quick reminder: The time for this event is 5-7 pm, with dinner available for purchase starting at 4:30 pm. Purchasing food is another helpful way to support our school and allows you to spend time with friends before the event!
We look forward to seeing everyone this evening!
Here again are a few upcoming student performances, if you want to support these SLOCA kids out in the community. If you have a child with a performance of some kind coming up, let us know and we’ll put it on the blog!
