“I had three chairs in my house; one for solitude, two for friendship, three for society.”
~Henry David Thoreau, Walden
Solitude, Friendship, and Society… Down Home wishes you time for all three during this busy holiday season!
Although there are plenty of places to go and things to do, we hope you can still find time to be “free by 5:00” – device-free, that is. Spend a little time with loved ones this weekend playing games, putting up holiday decorations, taking a walk, talking, laughing, experiencing the wonder of the season… whatever makes memories and brings you closer together.
There are still a couple of student performances this month, if you’d like to get out and see SLOCA students in the community. As always, please email Down Home if you have future events to add to this list!
• A Christmas Carol – December 16th-18th at the Spanos Theater in SLO. Presented by Ballet Theater San Luis Obispo. SLOCA students Violet Talley (LMS, Track A), Catherine Walz (Primary, Track A), and Kate Fisher (High School) will be performing in this show. Amelia Walz (HS) is working backstage and costume crew. Purchase tickets online here or here.
• SLO Youth Symphony Winter Concert – December 17th, 4 pm at the PAC. Several SLOCA students will be playing in this performance! Purchase tickets online here.
