We aren’t really into handing out fill-in-the blank worksheets on a regular basis here at SLOCA, but today we have a fill-in-the-blank challenge for our parents!
As SLOCA parents reading and learning alongside our children, we are often amazed at the things WE learn, which we believe we either never learned as a child, or have long since forgotten. Isn’t it fun and fascinating to be getting a rich education in this way?
Here’s another way you can put all that learning to good use. We want to give away a gift card to the SLOCA store, which can be used to buy curriculum for next year, beautiful literature, gifts, coffee, kombucha, and more! So we’ve created a simple contest for our SLOCA parents who want to enter a drawing for a chance to win this school store gift card. Using the comments area below, fill in this blank:
As a parent, one thing I learned about American History this year is ________.
Leave your response in the comments below, along with your name (so we know who to include in the drawing). The deadline to enter is Friday, May 19th. Thanks for learning together this year, and thanks for playing along – good luck!
We will gather the responses and share them (anonymously) in a future blog post, so you’ll get to see what everyone learned this year! By participating, you will be entered in a drawing for a chance to win a $20.00 gift card to the SLOCA store. This drawing is open to all current SLOCA parents, and ends Friday, May 19, 2017 at 11:59 pm. Your name must be included in the comments to be entered into the drawing. The winner will be chosen randomly and will be announced May 26, 2017. Questions? Email Down Home.
