Welcome to Down Home, San Luis Obispo Classical Academy’s blog! We are a classical school offering several options to make our education work for families with infants through high schoolers. Our signature hybrid program, which is part-time classroom and part-time home instruction, provides an engaging education for preschool through middle school (with full time options available). We also have a university model high school. This blog is meant to support and encourage on the home front because, in so many ways, the heart of what happens at SLO Classical Academy happens down home.

Wednesday Wonders: Battle of the Books 2017

{photos by Jessica Wilson}

This year several of our 4th-6th grade SLOCA students participated in the Battle of the Books (click here to learn more about it) and today we have a bunch of fun photos to share from our school “Battle.”

These students have been reading books from the Battle list all year long, and got together on a Friday to test their memory skills. They were divided into teams and had so much fun playing different games, which included traditional question rounds, a version of baseball, and a relay race outside.

We are so proud of these students! Their dedication to reading great literature in their spare time, their enthusiasm, and their respectful sportsmanship all made for a great SLOCA Battle.
