Today we have some endearing photos to share from our annual Upper Middle School Team Building Day – an adventure-filled day for our 7th and 8th grade students to build community out at Vista Lago Adventure Park and Mustang Waterslides. The kids participated in team building activities then got to hit the ropes course, zipline, and waterslides.
Cade Newman, our UMS History/Literature teacher, offered the following comments on the day:
It's always great when we have an opportunity to mix Tracks A and B outside of school for a little fun. This year's Team Building Day offered both fun and a chance for some of us to “Dare Greatly” by challenging ourselves on the ropes' course. Many of the students were at ease navigating the top course, while many others (myself included), stuck to the lower, easier course. I told everybody beforehand that I would try the top course this year, but just as I was going to make my attempt, it was closed down so another activity could begin. I was half frustrated and half rejoicing. Guess we'll have to wait until next year to see if Mr. Newman takes the challenge to step far outside of his comfort zone. UMS community, be on the lookout for our next get-together when we'll meet off site to act out Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, building community in our counter-cultural way!
