Last week the Life Together column in the update was written by one of our SLOCA grandparents, Sandee Beckers. If you didn’t get a chance to read that inspiring piece, please do! You’ll see that in the world of SLOCA, we have some dedicated grandparents who are working to ensure that the school is thriving. Today we want to highlight another example of that.
Karen and Bob Miller are grandparents of 3 SLOCA students, and one way they stay involved is by showing support for SLOCA fundraisers and sporting events. The Millers are dedicated Grizzly fans who regularly show up at Grizzly games, cheering on their grandchildren and the rest of the team. Karen writes down each team player’s name and jersey number so that she can connect with the SLOCA athletes on and off the court as well.
The Millers live in Arroyo Grande and have committed to making family a priority in their retirement years. Their desire is to spend as much time with their grandkids as possible and they want to take advantage of the close proximity to SLOCA. We always look forward to seeing their smiling faces at the games and we hope this encourages other SLOCA grandparents and family members to find simple ways to be involved.
Thank you Bob and Karen for the support of our Grizzly teams and our school!
