Every year in the spring, SLO Classical Academy hosts an evening of Recitation featuring our Pre-K through Primary students. Although they are learning beautiful poetry and reciting in the classroom all year long, this is one very special event where they share their poems while speaking into a microphone in front of an audience of family and friends. Whether they are timidly nervous or boldly animated, it is so precious to hear these little ones say their lines, knowing that the lovely, sophisticated language is now a part of them forever.
Our teachers were beaming with delight – here are a few comments from the evening:
What a beautiful event and evening we get to share with the children and their families. The dedication, hard work, and poise showcased by 3-6 year olds is truly inspiring.
~ April Bodine, Preschool Teacher
I was so proud of our littles for their hard work in memorizing beautiful poems and reciting them almost effortlessly. The kids performed with grace and big smiles on their faces!
~ Corin Koren, Primary Teacher
The ability of these little people to memorize beautiful and sometimes challenging language, and the courage it takes to recite those words in front of such a large crowd into a microphone, never ceases to amaze me! I am so proud of all of Little Wonders and Primary!

And here's an assortment of photos sent in by various parents – thank you!
