Happy Friday to all, and good news – it’s a long weekend!
Yes, Memorial Day brings an extra day off of work/school for many Americans, and often a BBQ or time with friends and family, but we also encourage you to take a moment this Memorial Day weekend to reflect on the meaning and sacrifice behind this national holiday.
SLOCA families, be sure to check out SLOCA’s Holiday Resource packet about Memorial Day – it’s full of background info, ways to celebrate, and books and movies that go along with this holiday. There’s a link to it in your weekly update!
We like to tell you about student performances coming up, but today we have one of our SLOCA teacher’s events to share! Mr. Guy Kinnear, our high school and middle school art instructor, has an upcoming art exhibition of his newest body of work – here’s all the info:
PAINTINGS AND DRAWINGS FROM THE HOMUNCULUS CYCLE:
or THE MODERN PROMETHEUS GOES OFF THE GRID

Exhibition runs June 1st – 29th
