Should we go ahead and say it? Yes, school is just right around the corner. With only a couple of weeks left, we thought we would continue to stay close to home, remain at a slower pace for the next couple of weeks and enjoy this weather (now that North County is slightly cooler). And what better way to savor this weather than getting out in the garden.
Gardening is a wonderful way to spend your afternoon or weekend outdoors. There’s something about being out in nature…the warmth of the sun on your skin, your hands deep down in the dirt…that’s simply satisfying. There’s nothing better than the simple pleasure of cultivating your own patch of earth, no matter the size.
We also know there’s plenty of health benefits to gardening. You can do your own research to find the innumerable studies out there as to what these are, however, we found this short and succinct summary of how gardening can improve your general well-being. So don’t wait! Grab your trowel, some pruning shears, maybe a cultivator and get working!
And after you’re finished, you can relax by making this gardener’s hand scrub using items you probably already have in your own home.
Enjoy!
