For our Wednesday Wonderings post today, we wanted to share some of the Back-to-School excitement we experienced last week. The energy was palpable and contagious. Every single student we connected with, even our new members, had the biggest smile on their faces and couldn’t wait to get into their classrooms. So, we went around campus and caught up with them during their breaks and asked what were their most favorite things about being back.
Below are some of their responses about the best part of their day:
- I like to play in the playground. -Juliana, age 4
- I like seeing my friends! -Alicia, age 6
- We like art. Yes, We’re very excited about art! -Ellie, age 6 and Kylabeth, age 7
- I like learning about history. -Josie, age 6
- Art and snack. I love snack! I’m always hungry!! -Charlotte, age 6
- That I get to go to school! -Tai, age 7
- Meeting your teachers and I like going through all the rules. -Sophia, age 8
- Making new friends and seeing old friends again. -Skylar 8, Caitlyn 9, and Annabelle 9
- Being ready to conquer things we haven’t done.-Bella, age 8
- I like lunch! -Koshi, age 8
- I’m excited about moving up this year. -Mattie, age 7
- I like seeing new people. -William, age 8
- I really like settling into a new classroom. -Adrian, age 10
- My favorite is meeting new people, making new friends and changing the classes. I’ve never been in a Logic class or with my new teachers. I’m excited! -Izzy, age 12
- It feels new. I like getting to start over, like a clean slate! But it’s also neat to think back from last year and now know more and build on it. -Piper, age 12
- I think it’s fun to see how everyone has changed. -Abigail, age 12
It is obvious that these students LOVE being back at SLOCA. And we are so glad they are back too! This is going to be an exciting year studying alongside these eager learners.
