We are excited to share our next set of Friday Faces today! This is our newest team with the program opening its doors just February of this year! Engaging hearts and minds is one of the beautiful privileges the Tiny Wonders team has. They do this as they nurture each child in their own developmental stage. It is a wonderfully thoughtful setting.
I (Cheryl) have had the opportunity to visit with these ladies and this part of our school, and as our Early Childhood Director puts it, this place truly is a “welcoming oasis.”
Scroll on down and meet this fabulous team!
1. What is your favorite fruit?
- April: All
- Lori: Raspberries, especially when they are combined with chocolate cake 😉
- Anna: My favorite fruit would have to be peaches or nectarines.
- Julie: Mango
- Deena: My favorite fruit are peaches from Butte County
- Lindsay: Pineapple 🙂
- Lareina: Watermelon
- Carina: My favorite fruit is watermelon
- Ashley: Pear
2. Have you ever been told you look like someone famous, who was it?
- April: No but I get called Rachel all the time
- Lori: Someone once said I look like Jaime Lee Curtis but I’m not so sure about that. Maybe when my hair was really short?
- Anna: I have never been told I look like anyone famous.
- Julie: Reese Witherspoon
- Deena: I have been told a few times I resemble Sally Fields
- Lindsay: Christina Ricci
- Lareina: In my late teens, early 20’s I had been told Selma Hayek.
- Carina: No. I haven’t been told I look like someone famous.
- Ashley: Flo from the progressive commercials
3. Coffee or Tea?
- April: Coffee!
- Lori: It used to be coffee but I had to switch to tea. My heart really belongs to hot chocolate.
- Anna: Peppermint tea is my go to but I always like to try new flavors.
- Julie: Tea
- Deena: Tea 100%
- Lindsay: TEA!!!
- Lareina: Coffee!
- Carina: Coffee.
- Ashley: Tea
4.What’s your most recent great read?
- April: The Night Circus
- Lori: I have to pick one?!?! The Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead
- Anna: I haven’t finished it yet but I already know that The Story of My Life by Helen Keller is going to be great.
- Julie: Have His Carcase by Dorothy Sayers
- Deena: Unseen by Sara Hagerty
- Lindsay: The Unbroken line of the Moon by Johanne Hildebrandt
- Lareina: I’m currently enjoying a book titled Getting Over It. It’s fun and quirky with an underlining reminder that every experience in life is unique, and has a learning curve that only you can know what’s right for you.
- Carina: The Developing Child by Kathleen Dyer
- Ashley: Never Where by Neil Gaiman
5. Best concert you’ve ever attended
- April: P!nk
- Lori: Again, do I have to pick just one?!? Neil Young at the Greek Theater in Berkeley with the full moon rising over the San Francisco Bay, all the Live Oak Festivals I’ve attended, my daughter performing a solo to “This is Me” in sign language with her hand choir (they do all performances in sign language), the elementary school concerts the year my son learned to play trumpet, nothing quite like “Hot Cross Buns” and “Smoke on the Water” performed by 4th, 5th and 6th graders
- Anna: So far the best concert that I have been to was Neko Case at the PAC.
- Julie: Lady Antebellum at the Mid-State Fair
- Deena: In the home of Micheal Nunez where my four big kids played together at ages 15, 14, 8 and 7
- Lindsay: Red Hot Chili Peppers!
- Lareina: I’d have to say I’m a little torn. Green Day comes to mind first because they really put on a great show and made the audience feel included, and every band member looked like they completely loved what they were doing. But, I’ve also seen some great artists’ shows at the Hardly Strickly Bluegrass Festival.
- Carina: Mexican Jaripeo
- Ashley: Michael Franti
Aren’t they a fun group? We hope you’ve had a great time reading about our amazing staff and teachers so far. Come back next week as we get to know our Little Wonders team!
