We are cruising right along into our 9th week and after reading about the beginnings of the Viking invasions and about Alfred the Great, we will now move into the Ottonian Dynasty and the birth of Germany.
In class, we are going to head over to East Francia to learn more about Henry the Fowler, as well as explore the expansion of the Vikings throughout the rest of Europe with the spotlight on Erik Thorvaldsson (aka Erik the Red) and Leif Ericsson (Erik the Red’s son). Our resources for this week include a few fun facts about Alfred coupled with some fun Viking links for your home days.
