Over our winter break, we hope to highlight a couple more of our sports teams from the fall season. Our athletes worked really hard and we want to share their thoughts on how their season went. Our girls’ middle school volleyball team was coached by Austin Pauls and joining us today are middle schoolers Scarlett LaDuque (Track A) and Sophie Rohr (Track B).
“This year’s team was very supportive and fun to work with. I think everyone worked hard and both teams encouraged each other. I think the coach worked really hard to make us be our best. “ -Scarlett LaDuque
“It was an incredible experience where I met new friends from both Tracks, A and B. Practices were fun. We were allowed to goof off sometimes, but also learned volleyball skills in the process. We improved a lot over the season. We learned more techniques, and attended more practices to improve our skills. At the beginning, no one could get their overhand serve over the net. By the end, most of the team could. I think we won more games later in the season because we learned how to play together as a team. Games were my favorite part. We played many teams. We won some and lost others, but, overall, we had fun and never gave up. I am glad that I played volleyball at SLOCA and appreciate all the hard work people did to make this season happen.” -Sophie Rohr
Thanks, girls, for sharing with us! We’re so proud of how hard you worked and for finishing the season strong! Go Grizzlies!!
