Spring Break is upon us and we have some exciting and WONDERful news! One of our very own teachers, Mr. Guy Kinnear, who teaches our middle school and high school art classes, has been invited to present at a National Convention of Representational Artists over spring break. Yes, that’s next week, which means you have the opportunity to attend! He will be exhibiting 9 works of art and will be presenting on the topic of Representation and the Imagination in Art. This is quite an honor for Mr. Kinnear as he will be exhibiting side by side with some nationally known artists.
The Representational Art Conference 2019 (TRAC2019) “is the premier international event focused on cutting-edge representational art in the 21st century – where imagination matters and the mind meets the hand.”
Mr. Kinnear’s exhibit, The Illusionists, will be at Blackboard Gallery in Studio Channel Islands, described as:
“The art in The Illusionists gives us a window into the imagined worlds of the artists who made them – and what amazing worlds they are – some are dreamlike, some are frightening, some are bizarre. All of them are painted and sculpted in a way that makes them believable.”
To plan your visit or to find out more, you can go to the curator’s page for details. Mr. Kinnear’s also has another show coming up in May in Beverly Hills. Make sure to mark your calendars!!
We hope you have a wonderful spring break filled with laughter and memories with your loved ones! Down Home will be taking a break next week as well so we’ll see you back here on Monday, April 8th! Enjoy your time off!!
