Should we dare say it? Summer isn’t that far away. Let’s face it, some of us are already making plans. Whether it’s about finding the right family vacation, or the perfect road trip, or the right caregiver for your kids while you work or deciding on which summer camp your student should go to, the end of the school year is going to come sooner than some of us think. Well, here on the blog, we’re always several weeks or months ahead of the calendar. We’re continually thinking of what’s to come and what kind of rich content to bring to our loyal readers.
For today’s post, we want to turn it over to YOU! You have an opportunity to share a WONDER theme post on the blog this summer and be a SLOCA guest blogger!! If you choose to participate, your name will be entered to win a free SLOCA sweatshirt or one of our new shirts!! If your name doesn’t get picked, you will still receive a little treat and still be a guest blogger! It’s a win-win for everyone!
So, here’s how it will work…
WHO:
This opportunity is open to all current SLOCA families (parents + grandparents) and their students!
WHAT:
We’re going to continue with our school year’s theme of Wonder through the summer so you will send in a WONDER theme post that’s relevant to our community. Whether it’s a wonder experience you had during the school year that you’d like to share or a tremendous trip that you and your family took or a list of summer goals (and how you intend to complete them) or homemade recipes that would be perfect for the summer time or a 30-day photo project capturing the world around your or *enter your idea here.* The possibilities are endless! You get to be creative and as wonder-filled as you’d like!
WHY:
We want to hear from you! We want to know how our SLOCA community is living out their WONDER-filled mentality and how this perspective has changed the way you see things. We know a lot of you have amazing ideas and have had incredible experiences that our readers could benefit from!
WHEN:
We need to know no later than Friday, May 17th if you are joining in! This doesn’t mean you need to have something written by then! This date just gives us a chance to look through the summer calendar and lock in a date that will work for you.
WHERE:
All communications will be done via email so you don’t need to worry about meeting us on campus or in person (although we would absolutely love that and can do so if you’d like!)

Hello, we are new to SLOCA and our kinder student starts in the fall. We would love to participate in the Wonder blog post over the summer. Our schedule is open over the summer as well.

I’d love to do one in mid-August about the benefits of unplugging, spending time with extended family, getting out into nature, and what happens when you do. Technically I could write that any time but we have a trip planned at the beginning of August and I can get some good photographs then.
As an alternate we’re going to San Diego Comic Con and I could write up a bit about that and all the questions the kids ask while we’re there.
Gina, sounds like lots of fun summer plans!! Would you be up for writing about both? We’d love to hear about them!! I’ll be in touch with dates very soon!
