Welcome back, Down Home friends! How is your summer break going so far? We hope that you’ve had some time to take a deep breath and enjoy a slower pace with lots of play and rest in between. Summers here on Down Home also slows down a bit with content only on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays for the next 8 weeks. Last summer we focused on Freebies in SLO County which gave ideas that you and your family can do around our town and in our homes. This year, we will continue our Wonder theme through the summer and highlight some wonder-filled experiences from our own community. We have a few guest bloggers joining us, and we can’t wait to share with you so make sure to stop by and say hello!
For today’s post, we want to provide you with some links from our Freebies in SLO County series in case you are looking for some ideas on what to do this summer.
Some things you can do:
- visit a different beach
- check out a new hiking trail and you may find something interesting
- volunteer in your community
- visit relatives
- play a new game (or two) with your kids
- go on a family tidepooling adventure
- visit a botanical garden near you
- go on a walking tour
- visit your local farmer’s market
- see what’s new at the art museum
- get on a bike!
- do something outside whether a tea party, barbeque with friends, gardening, or camping
- go on a slow drive
