Welcome to Down Home, San Luis Obispo Classical Academy’s blog! We are a classical school offering several options to make our education work for families with infants through high schoolers. Our signature hybrid program, which is part-time classroom and part-time home instruction, provides an engaging education for preschool through middle school (with full time options available). We also have a university model high school. This blog is meant to support and encourage on the home front because, in so many ways, the heart of what happens at SLO Classical Academy happens down home.

What’s Up Weekend?

Happy Friday! We are taking a little break from our Friday Faces series to bring you a What’s Up Weekend? You will notice that we have only highlighted one event for Friday, our History Day Tableau — Pageant of the Masters.

If you are having trouble “picturing” what a tableau is, here’s a quick definition to help.

tableau: [short for tableau vivant (from French, literally, living picture)] a depiction of a scene usually presented on a stage by silent and motionless costumed participants.
— Merriam-Webster

This is such a spectacular event! Come and support our students in this artistic undertaking.  See you there!

SLO Classical Academy is not affiliated with any of the above-mentioned websites, businesses or organizations.

This Monday is Veteran’s Day and we wanted to make sure you were aware of some enrichment materials available to you. Be sure to check out the Veteran’s Day packet under Holiday Resources in the Parent Portal. It is full of helpful information about this holiday as well as book and movie recommendations.

And don’t forget — Progress Reports are due! (Monday 11/11/19 Track A, Tuesday 11/12/19 Track B).
