Welcome to Down Home, San Luis Obispo Classical Academy’s blog! We are a classical school offering several options to make our education work for families with infants through high schoolers. Our signature hybrid program, which is part-time classroom and part-time home instruction, provides an engaging education for preschool through middle school (with full time options available). We also have a university model high school. This blog is meant to support and encourage on the home front because, in so many ways, the heart of what happens at SLO Classical Academy happens down home.

Monday Mix-Ins Fun!

Congratulations — you have arrived at the official last week of school! We are wrapping up quite a year. Although this final trimester was not what any of us planned or imagined when the 2019/2020 school year began, we have done our best to finish well. You should be immensely proud of yourselves and your students! As grids are light this last week of school, consider taking some time to reflect with your student(s) on the remarkable Renaissance and all the rich history that we have been immersed in this year. Have them share their favorite book we read, person we studied, or activity assigned. Ask them what they want to remember about this year — challenge them to think beyond COVID and shelter-in-place. And once you have enjoyed some time reflecting on this historic school year, have some fun watching these educational and engaging videos.
