Happy Friday! Two summers ago, Down Home brought you a series titled, Freebies in SLO. As we make our way through this unique summer where perhaps many of our usual ways of spending the days are not currently options, we thought we would share a few of these fun posts that highlight activities that can still be enjoyed. Today is Hiking!

One of the unique features of our coastal area is the fact that while we have plenty of beaches up and down our coast, SLO County also offers plenty of mountainous terrain for our non-beach goers to enjoy. Here is a list of local hikes and trails you can explore! This list includes hikes ranging from easy to very strenuous so please pay close attention to each hike’s difficulty rating prior to your family adventure.
Reservoir Canyon, pictured below, is a favorite among many locals. We know we probably missed many more so please comment below to add or if you have any favorites (anyone been to Big Falls recently?), we’d love to hear about those also!

Definitely needed this as my husband and I were just talking about resources for local trails. Thank you!
Yay! Let us know if you try a new trail that is noteworthy.
