Lily Ronda: Me, Myself, and I (Self-Portraits)
My senior project was an exploration into the creator/creation dynamic when it comes to art, especially in portraiture, when attempting to capture a person’s personality or even soul in a physical medium. I especially thought self-portraits create a very interesting relationship, because the artist must become both the producer and the product. I chose to create three different self-portraits with three different mediums: oil paint, block print, and paper collage. I hoped to learn more about how I chose to present myself and what my main values are when deciding what kind of art to make.
