Hope is the power of being cheerful in circumstances that we know to be desperate.
― G.K. Chesterton
Each Monday of this summer, Down Home has featured our Hope for the 2nd Half series, bringing to you stories of hope from our SLOCA parents, staff, and even grandparents. These vulnerable and poignant posts have been encouraging, uplifting, thought-provoking, and heartwarming. Our aim has been to remind you of the good, the true, and the beautiful as we have searched for the silver linings of 2020 together.
We will be wrapping up our Hope for the 2nd Half series next week and we want to share more from our SLOCA community! Hope is contagious and as we are on the brink of a school year like no other, let’s invigorate and inspire each other to be hopeful and intentional about the days ahead.
Are you ready? We want to hear from you!
- What is your hope for the coming school year?
- How do you define hope?
- Why do we need hope?
- Do you have a favorite quote about hope?

In joined hands there is still some token of hope, in the clinched fist none.
