Why take one’s family on an educational, experiential trip?
Because our trips are an essential and irreplaceable part of any ambitious education: they bring to life what has been studied in the classroom or at home; they help integrate knowledge, and they give a deeper meaning to what is taught. Seeing. Hearing. Tasting. Smelling. Touching. Feeling and even Imagining oneself in the midst of events that changed the world!
- They go beyond the book.
- They go beyond the screen.
- They are immersive.
- They are fun and profound at the same time.
- They create long-lasting memories.
Black America, A Fundamental Chapter of Our Country’s History
What would today’s America look like without the presence and immense contribution of the Black community? What would today’s America look like without the pride, courage, and boldness of those who stood up, of those who spoke up, of those who said “no more!” to flagrant injustice? And what could tomorrow’s America look like if we move forward and take our share of responsibility on the path of healing, respect, and equal opportunity? If we open our minds? If we open our hearts?
These are some of the urgent and highly sensitive questions that we will be addressing on our trip to the South: from Montgomery through Selma, Birmingham, Memphis, and Jacksonville and down into New Orleans, from the time of slavery, through the Civil Rights movement and up into the struggles of today. Come and hear the stories. See the sights. And learn alongside your friends.
My experience traveling throughout Europe with Cindy and the families at SLO Classical Academy was truly a lifetime highlight for me. The itinerary, accommodations, transportation, local guides, and unique experiences were thoughtfully planned and organized. Cindy is a calm, kind, resourceful leader who created experiences both adults and children could enjoy, and our educational tours connected perfectly with SLOCA’s classical approach and curriculum… I highly recommend going on all of Cindy’s trips because it truly will be life-changing and like no other trip you will ever experience. If you love to learn about our world then trust Cindy to create a once in a lifetime experience for you and your family.
