Happy Independence Day! Does this holiday hold just a little more weight and significance for you this year after our year in American History? Who plans to make their kids recite the Declaration of Independence today? As we learned this year, those famous words really were and are a foundation of our nation.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.
So how will you celebrate our nation’s birthday? Perhaps you already have a full schedule for the day, but if not, here are some local options for the day. (Yay for having options!)
- Templeton Firefighters Association Pancake Breakfast | Up early? Hurry this delicious event starts at 7:00 a.m. (Don’t worry, it goes till 10:00 a.m.)
- Atascadero 4th of July Music Festival | At Atascadero Lake Park 4:00 p.m. – 8 p.m.
- Morro Bay Art in the Park | 100 booths for artists and craftspeople to sell and display goods in an outdoor setting. 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
- Pismo Pier July 4th Celebration | There will be vendors, music, and fireworks (at 9:00 p.m.). 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
- Small Fireworks show in Cayucos | No parade or other activities, but they are planning to bring those back in 2022. 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
- Arroyo Grande 4th of July in the Village | Concert and social 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
- Circus Vargas at Madonna Inn | The circus is in town for 2 more days!
- Nipomo 4th of July Parade | Starts at 11:00 a.m. at Nipomo High School.
