Happy Wednesday! Today we break from our regularly scheduled programming to highlight our Tri Tip BBQ Dinner coming up on March 11th. Also a reminder that the SLOCA High School Football team is selling chilli at our History Day Wax Museum this Friday evening. My dinner plans are taken care of! Below is a short message from our HS Football Committee on why we are committed to our Athletics program and supporting this new opportunity. Go Grizzlies!
Athletics is one of the disciplines of a classical education. Playing team sports helps students learn about team-work, discipline, how to receive coaching, and they are able to watch their skills progress throughout the season. It’s so exciting to watch the kids cheer each other on and to see the bonds between students strengthen out on the field or on the court.
Adding to our extensive list of sports opportunities, we are excited that SLOCA High School will be playing 8-man tackle football in the fall! They had a soft start Fall 2021 with our team meeting for physical conditioning and drills. Before they can fully function as a team, they are in need of equipment. To help purchase equipment and uniforms for our inaugural season, Fall 2022, we are hosting a drive through Tri-Tip BBQ dinner, Friday March 11 at Cuesta Park. The tickets are $60 and the meal includes a whole barbecued tri-tip, beans, salad, and bread—enough to serve 4 people. Buy your tickets today and help support our Grizzly Football Team!
