Happy Friday! We have a couple of (somewhat) new faces to introduce you to today. Both of these ladies came to us mid-year last year, so they aren’t exactly new, but new to Friday Faces:
Kaitlyn Perry
Kindergarten – Intermediate Music Teacher
Q: What is your degree in?
A: Music Education
Q: What was your last job before your SLOCA life?
A: My last (and still current) job before SLOCA was teaching private music lessons at Music Motive in SLO.
Q: What is the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning?
A: The first thing I do in the morning is make coffee!
Q: What is your favorite local restaurant?
A: My favorite local restaurant is Firestone Grill.
Q: What was your favorite book when you were a child?
A: I loved all the Dr. Seuss books when I was a child – especially Green Eggs and Ham!
Q: What is your favorite piece of literature?
A: My favorite piece of literature is To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee.
Cecelia Nutting
Intermediate Core Teacher and Level 4 Math Teacher (Track B),
Friday Foundations Intermediate Teacher
Q: What is your degree in?
A: B.S. in Liberal Studies with concentration in Elementary Education.
Q: What was your last job before your SLOCA life?
A: Right before I came to SLOCA I was working for a tech company here in San Luis Obispo called MindBody where I trained our clients how to use the software. Before that I taught back home in the Merced/Atwater area for 6 years as a classroom teacher.
Q: What is the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning?
A: First thing I do is feed my bunny – he's a hungry fellow!
Q: What is your favorite local restaurant?
A: That's a hard question to answer. It depends on my mood. I love to eat at MyThai, Shalimar, and Yanagi Sushi.
Q: What was your favorite book when you were a child?
A: I loved reading the Nancy Drew mystery stories. I also adored the book, From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler by E.L. Konigsburg.
Q: What is your favorite piece of literature that we've read at SLOCA?
A: That's another hard question to answer as I enjoyed many of them, but the one that stands out is The Bronze Bow by Elizabeth George Speare as I really enjoyed the conversations we had in the classroom about this story.
