This school year we’ve enjoyed several “Day in the Life” posts, and we are so grateful to all the families who have shared part of their homeschooling experience with us! Today we have our last installment of this series for the year:

My name is Amy Turner and I am the Junior K aide on track B as well as a busy home school mom. I have 3 kids at SLOCA. Owen is in Intermediate, Darby is in Primary, and Miles is in Junior K.
This has been the busiest homeschool year for the Turners yet. I have other commitments this year and have to be out of the house half the day once a week. This is one of those days.
Our home day started after lunch at 1:30 (not the best time to start but we do our best).
Darby and Owen each begin their math. They are both eager and willing today. Yay!!
Next we head outside and I read Story of the World and Story of the Romans while the kids have popsicles.
Darby heads inside and begins writing thank you cards. She just had a birthday and writing thank you cards is doubling as handwriting and copy work today.
While Owen works on his narrative, he was particularly interested in Nero, I read Little Red Riding Hood to Miles. It is nice to catch some snuggles on the couch.
At 3:45 we wrap up our home day. I have to get the kids to a class at 4. We didn’t get our grammar or spelling done, but that just means we will do extra on the weekends.
Thank you Amy, for telling us about one of your homeschool days, and reminding us that they don’t all look alike, and that’s okay! It’s awesome how our families make homeschooling work with their varied schedules.
