Congratulations to Joy Newman, the winner of the Kindness drawing! Look for your Jamba Juice card in your family file this week!
Who's ready for a family game night? With Christmas break right around the corner, there’s more space for relaxed (or heated?) family game time and we thought we’d ask some of our SLOCA families which board games are their favorites. We got several responses and want to pass along the suggestions. If you’re looking for a new game (or an old classic) to get the family for Christmas, read on!
The Cheney family
Spot It – the whole family can play and it’s really fun. BWise also has a version to help young ones learn their letters.
The Campbell family
Ticket to Ride Europe – there are other versions available too!
The Newman family
Qwirkle, Blokus, Monopoly, Sorry, Go fish, and New World
The Dahl family
Life, Chinese Checkers, Chess (with grandpa!), Jenga, and Professor Noggin’s History of the United States, which has been fun to play while studying this time period!
The Keck family
Risk, Axis and Allies, Tsuro, Settlers of Catan, and the card game Golf
The Curzan family
Uno, Mouse Trap, Bananagrams, Appletters
The Dow family
Scrabble, and a matching game with our latin words
The Malley kids are reported to like to play Spoons, Dominoes, and Mexican Train Dominoes.

One last thing to throw out there for Christmas break fun: There are many online educational games (we'll post in the future with some suggestions for these!) and you may have a love/hate relationship with them, but here's an online game worth sharing. It's a logic game called Sugar Sugar. Beware, it can be very addictive for adults as well as kids!
Thanks to all the families who shared their favorite games. Why not try a new one this holiday season?
Let's talk: What games does your family like to play? Do you have another game to recommend that wasn't mentioned here? Leave a comment and share with us!
