It’s the first day of Trimester 3! Welcome, everyone! A quick reminder that we have our last parent history/literature training of the school year tonight at 6:30p. These trainings are full of rich information and you always walk away eager to start learning alongside your students. We hope you can join us!
We’ll go light on today’s mix-ins as you prepare for your first day of the trimester and for tonight’s training but we have a lot of excellent resources coming your way in the next few months. This week, we’re heading over to Central Asia in the year 1200 and learning about the Mongols. Who were these nomadic people? How is it possible for a single warrior to unite many tribes and build the largest land empire in history? Is a person of this intense influence and impact considered a hero or a villain?
Also this week, we get to dive into the world of Shakespeare. Our students will be reading Hamlet, exploring its story elements, discussing famous lines and soliloquies, and analyzing the play using Shakespeare’s language. It is going to be a fun, few weeks!
Our topics of study in the next few days can lend itself to some great Socratic dinner table discussions with your students and we hope you take advantage of that opportunity. Have a wonderful week of learning!
