Happy Valentine’s Day!!! Don’t you just love Fridays? They are made even better when they come before a long weekend. (Reminder: there is no school Monday or Tuesday of next week.) This Friday is full of love for our fantastic Support Staff as we finish with “Part Two” of our Friday Faces. Same questions, new faces. Enjoy!

If you could eliminate one chore from your life what would it be?
- Jeannett: I LOVE cooking, but doing it for multiple meals per day, day after day takes the fun out of it. (Add in a kid who doesn’t like cheese, one who thinks she’s allergic to bananas…she’s not…and another kid who has announced he’s a vegetarian, and cooking is THE WORST.)
- Brenda: Scrubbing my shower.
- Sam: That’s easy laundry! It’s not so much the washing & drying part as it is the having to put clothes away part I despise the most.
- Edie: Cleaning crusted and charred pots and pans.
- Cheryl: I’m eager to find out if anyone else feels the same way…but for me and my household, it is definitely laundry! We’re a family of five (or six if you count the puppy who loves to eat kitchen towels), so having this many people in a home creates an enormous amount of things to be washed. Oh, the sorting, the loading, the drying, the folding, the putting away that happens…it all takes. so. much. time. AND…I seriously want to know…where do those missing socks go??? I consider myself fairly organized but somehow, in some way, I’m still missing them! And here’s a useless fact for you: I just went around each family member’s drawer the other day to count and we have at least a dozen missing! WHERE DO THEY GO???!!!
- Sharon: Cleaning bathrooms! There are just too many gross factors when it comes to cleaning a bathroom, especially when you have kids.
- Julie: Trapping gophers.
- Nikol: I wish I had a little elf who would magically unload the dishwasher for me every day.
- Miranda: Dishes…dirty dishes never really go away, do they?
Who inspires you to be better?
- Jeannett: My husband. He’s really amazing at everything he does and he works so hard. I can’t ever compete, but I also try to not be too much of a slacker.
- Brenda: My children, I feel it is important to lead by example, that means owning my mistakes, apologizing and taking corrective actions or picking myself up when I really don’t want to.
- Sam: People who have an optimistic upbeat outlook on life and who strive to better themselves and others.
- Edie: Franz Jagerstatter, Sophie Scholl, Amy Carmichael, and Irena Sendler.
- Cheryl: My 3 boys. They are my beautiful, daily, oftentimes rigorous reminder to embrace what I have been called to do on this earth. They spark and provoke me to be better each day!
- Sharon: My parents. My Dad has got to be the least selfish person I know. He loves to humbly serve his family and pretty much never complains. My Mom is super generous. She freely gives of her time, money, etc. to meet the needs of her family and friends. I want to be like them when I grow up.
- Julie: God.
- Nikol: Definitely my family.
- Miranda: People who endure adversity while maintaining inner joy.
If you could go back in time, what year would you travel to?
- Jeannett: I don’t have wanderlust. Not geographically, nor chronologically. I’m fine right here and now.
- Brenda: I don’t think I would go back in time. There is too much to look forward to, to get caught up in the past.
- Sam: I have always been a fan of Art Nouveau, and Impressionism art that I would love to go back during those eras. As well as the 1920’s & 1970’s I think would be fun eras to explore.
- Edie: 75 AD Roman Empire under Vespasian, just one of hundreds of years I would love to travel back to.
- Cheryl: Years…2005, 2007, and 2011. I should’ve opted for the drugs. 😉
- Sharon: To the year 2019, when I wrote this silly question. Or perhaps, the early 1800’s. I’m a bit of a Jane Austen fan, so I wouldn’t mind visiting England during the time she wrote. (Just a visit though, I’m a little attached to modern comforts.)
- Julie: 1990.
- Nikol: I have a slight obsession with mid-century design, so it would have to be the 50’s and early 60’s. My Mom grew up during that time and she made all her own clothes, even her prom dresses. I wish we had more occasions to dress up like that today.
- Miranda: 2020 is just fine with me.
What is your favorite board game or group sport?
- Jeannett: el oh el oh el. (Anyone who knows me just chuckled at this question in regards to me). I really don’t like games. Like, ANY. Card, board, ball. I am happy with a book and a glass of wine. So if there’s a board game where the only rule is to ignore it, then I choose that one.
- Brenda: Qwirkle or Rummikub.
- Sam: Is yoga considered a group sport? If so yoga!
- Edie: Scrabble.
- Cheryl: I’m not sure I have one favorite, but I certainly love me a compelling game of Yahtzee! 🙂
- Sharon: Settlers of Catan is one of my go-to board games because it’s just the right mix of strategy and chance.
- Julie: Sequence.
- Nikol: I love a good competitive game of ping-pong.
- Miranda: Volleyball.
Thank you so much to our fabulous Support Staff!
Don’t forget re-enrollment opens this Monday, February 17th.
Have a lovely long weekend!

Love learning more about all of you! BTW, Cheryl, even in our small household, we have a drawer for our “missing partner” socks. Eventually half of them make their way back with their mates once we find them in our shirts or other clingy clothes! The rest used to become puppets. 🙂 Thanks for the fun article!
