Welcome to Down Home, San Luis Obispo Classical Academy’s blog! We are a classical school offering several options to make our education work for families with infants through high schoolers. Our signature hybrid program, which is part-time classroom and part-time home instruction, provides an engaging education for preschool through middle school (with full time options available). We also have a university model high school. This blog is meant to support and encourage on the home front because, in so many ways, the heart of what happens at SLO Classical Academy happens down home.

Semper discentes—always learning together.

Welcome, Friday! There’s a beautiful weekend ahead – how will you spend it? What about checking out a new Farmers Market? We are so fortunate here on the central coast to have access to lots of locally grown produce. Here’s a list of all the local farmer’s markets in our county.

And here’s a seasonal guide to what’s growing locally on the Central Coast year-round.

A few activities happening this weekend:

We want to also remind you that this Sunday, April 29th, is the Fort Hope Wild West Show and BBQ Fundraiser. We mentioned this a couple of weeks ago as a great opportunity to experience a bit of wild west history. It’s not too late to get tickets! Click here for more info.

Have a glorious weekend – we leave you with a short video clip of Mrs. Milligan's Track A Intermediate class reciting O Captain! My Captain! by Walt Whitman:
