Your mind will answer most questions if you learn to relax and wait for the answer.
~William S. Burroughs
This may be the age of Google and smart phones, but there’s still a time and a place for slowing down, unplugging, and letting the mind relax in order to contemplate the more important things in life.
This weekend many of us will be finishing up (or starting…?) our progress reports – they are due next Monday/Tuesday! (Click here for the link to the Parent Page on the website where the links to the forms are.) We hope this isn’t a stressful task, but that you can set aside some time to relax and reflect on your children’s progress this trimester.
In the busyness of living the SLOCA life, it’s both essential and rewarding to stop and consider the growth you’ve witnessed over the past several weeks. Think about the history that has been explored, the great literature we’ve discussed and enjoyed, the math, grammar or spelling skills that were gained, the interest in learning something new, the moments of character development… and the wonders you've seen throughout the process. Isn’t it amazing that we get to be a part of this journey, and to really KNOW our kids in this way?
We hope you have a delightful weekend, and are thankful for the opportunity to reflect on and write about your child’s growth over this past trimester!
